What this means for you if you’re selling your home:
First, it’s worth commenting on the small sample size. Afton is a smaller community so anytime there is one house that’s sold for more money or was on the market a little longer it will have a big impact on the percentages we report above.
- The most important number we are looking at is months supply of inventory. In 2015 it was a strong BUYER’s market in Afton. Unlike the rest of the Twin Cities where we saw a stronger SELLER’s market. We like that the market appears to becoming more balanced which will be advantageous for seller’s for the rest of the year.
- There has been an increase in the median sales price, proving value is strong in Afton.
- Homes are staying on the market for the relatively same length of time and we suspect for the next few months it will be a good time for homeowners to sell their homes in Afton.
